Having taken the opportunity in the recent String sale (Solo I, Appassionata I) to finally become an official VSL user, I now have a few questions regarding the real size of both Dimension Strings and Brass. As may be expected, I have been motivated to accelerate my possible DS acquisition with the forthcoming announced release in June of additiional DS-Cello content (and the usual $ increase..).
I raise the issue of "real" sample size since my experiences for Solo and Appassionata Strings confirmed there is a distinct difference between- stated sample size and actual disk space used. Since I am now planning for an enhanced SSD addition to accomodate DS, DB and other libraries (Spitfire BML: Sable, etc.), I thought it prudent to resolve this issue with facts and actual user experience or direct VSL clarifications.
Dimension Strings
1. System Reqs. state 85.7 GB free hard drive space
Q: Is this space total for ALL content current and future? Is this the "actual" disk space used?
Q: Will the additional content releases (Cello, Viola, DB) increase the overall DS disk space size? If, so, does any one know how much?
Q: Is there specifically stated (anywhere..) the actual content sizes and expected Disk space used?
Dimension Brass
1. System Reqs. state 19 GB free hard drive space
Q. Since this Library is fully released only question is- does the 19 GB reflect actual disk space used?
As an end-note just finished upgrading to VI Pro 2, very nice enhancement! I'm basing my Studio foundation on two key "Pillars": VSL and Spitfire, which should provide a lot of options in usage as well as demands on me as a (competent) user. Any input-feedback is appreciated. Thank you.
