    Just discovered the legato features and would like to heap praises and wish much happiness in this life and the next for all the Vienna Library staff[ip]

    Thanks for this wonderful feature and especially to Herb and Paul for the wonderful video on polyphonic legato[H]-way cool indeed!

    In addition I found it helps to tweek the attack slider in the performance tab-11 gives a nudge to the legato settings suggested in the video. Also nudged the release up to around 72, very smooth transitions, just like the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest olv. Eivind Gullberg Jensen[;)]

    I agree on your ideas about the legato . It is fantastic.  Also, that is a great performance on the video.  Rachmaninoff was overlooked, and even ridiculed in the 20th century because he wrote music that sounded good, something not generally allowed by the academic musical establishment then or now.  

    I love that symphony, also his 1st symphony.   It was a failure when it was premiered, and he was depressed over it though it was because of a bad performance and not being the curent "fashion."  However it is a powerful Romantic work.  Thanks for posting that link - it is wonderful to hear that performance.

    Adagio movement from Symphony no.2 is my all time favorite classical piece.  It was a very difficult time in my life when I studied this symphony and it has stuck with me through the years.  VSL is very capable of reproducing an excellent midi mockup of that recording.  I have often considered doing it myself actually.  And yes to this day, VSL legate is still the leader in legato.
