Have You Used Sibelius Sound Sets and Standalone Version of VIPro Simultaneously?

Hello,

I'm using Sibelius along with the VSL sound sets (using VEPro as a VST instrument within Sibelius) and everything works fine. However, I was wanting to open the standalone version of VIPro so that I can use it with my keyboard to try things out before notating them into Sibelius. I can open a standalone version of VIPro ok and it will work with my keyboard, but when I make the notations into Sibelius and try to play it back, Sibelius freezes when I hit the playback button and I have to shut it down.

Any idea if there is a way to get this configuration to work? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hello Corte!

As far as I know, you would need a multiclient ASIO driver for that and most ASIO drivers aren't capable of that. (Someone correct me, if I'm wrong).

If by chance you have a second audio interface, you could assign the ASIO drivers for the different interfaces in the two applications.

You can do this will any RME interface. However, the cheap method is to use ASIO4ALL. Do be aware that Sibelius is a bit of a driver hog, so you might have to make sure that one application is minimised to the Task Bar before you open the other one.

Is it just a matter of downloading and installing ASIO4All? Once I install that driver, it should work ok??
