Help - cant install Special Edition Libraries
Hi All, I have just purchased Special Edition collections 1 and 4 as downloads, and am unable to install them. I've successfully authorised my e-licenser key for the relevant products, that worked fine, and i've downloaded all the data using the download manager and made sure my elicencer control is on the latest version. The auto-install function was checked in the download manager, but once the download reached 100% nothing happened, and if I uncheck it, i'm un-able to hit the install button as it's greyed out for each product. They all list as being 100.00% downloaded except percussion more v01, which says it's at 99.9%, though all it's CAB files appear to have downloaded fine. All products continue to look like they are downloading with the ETA times randomly fluctuating though no servers are active for each and they all list as being 100% downloaded with the above exception. I've tried quitting and relaunching the download manager, on re-launch it verifies the data fine and but again won't auto-install or let me manually install (button greyed out) I've tried restarting the computer and relaunching the download manager - same deal. I've tried using the library installer app that came with instruments pro, but it says it needs a 'package.info' file with the download, which is not present with the .cab files that have been downloaded. My computer is a Macbook Pro Retina 15" with 16 gig Ram running OSX 10.8.2. The data files have been downloaded to an external USB 3 drive. This is very frustrating as i've just spent quite a lot of money in order to get these sounds to finish a a composition to a deadline for which I was reliant on having these orchestral and choir samples. Any suggestions anybody can make would be very much appreciated! I'd also like to suggest to VSL that as you make such excellent products that are used in professional environments by people who make their living from them, it would be good to publish a support phone number so these kind of problems could be diagnosed over the phone. Your products are great, but they're technically very complex, and it's a lot easier to fix these kinds of issues if you can talk to somebody! Many thanks everybody for your help. Best - Rob Kelly

Hi Rob,
I just read your mail to
, with the same text. We´ll look into this, I have not seen such a behaviour yet, and we do have thousands of downloads.
Is there a chance you are running any anti-virus programs or applications like the dreaded "Little Snitch"? If yes, please turn them off, at least for the installation, and let´s see if that helps.
Quick work-around: Make sure you have installed the latest VIENNA INSTRUMENTS software, then start the Library Installer you find in "Applications" => "Vienna Instruments".
As requested, point it to the package.info file that is in every download folder (you chose the location when you started the download), and installation will start right away.
Hope that helps for now, we´ll also stay in touch via mail.
Best,
Paul

Thanks Paul, the prompt response is very much appreciated. Nope no anti-virus or little snitch on this computer. I've tried the workround you suggest, but the issue appears to be that there is no package.info file included in each download folder, just the CAB files. I've checked and double checked and they're not there! I don't know if Mountain Lion is making the files invisible for some reason? Very weird... Is there a number I can call you on? Many thanks - Rob
