In my score, I have (as usual) a first and second violin section. When playing some kind of legato, a lot of notes disappear (drop out) from the second violins. Why is that? What can I do about it?

Hello Jos!
The Orchestral Strings are looped and shouldn't drop out. That's why I thought that you may have loaded the Solo Strings. I can only guess why this is happening. Maybe the two violins are playing on the same channel. Please make sure that you have reserved a program and channel for both sections on the Sibelius Manual Sound Sets page and in Vienna Ensemble. If you have made any output settings in the Sibelius mixer, please reset all outputs to (Auto).
Best,
Andi
As a non-user, but curious about the ins- and outs before purchasing, I followed this thread and thought that Max is using Notion-4. What has that to do with the Sibelius Manual Sound Sets?

Hello Raymond!
It has not been mentioned in this thread, which software Jos (or Max) uses. I assumed it was Sibelius, but admit that this might have been a wrong guess. I wonder what makes you think that it is Notion.
Jos, can you please clarify which software you are using and what you did exactly to set up your playback.
Best,
Andi
It also hasn't been mentioned whether two matrixes of orchestral violins have been loaded or whether two staves are going to a single matrix.
A. He told me some time ago, among other programs.
B. In another thread he mentioned something about Notion.

I'm sorry, Andi, I thought you knew from another thread. I de use Notion 4 and channels are assigned automatically in Notion when using a preset library (such as VSL SE Strings) in Notion score setup. I assume all the staves (instruments) use another midi channel, but I can't actually tell. I have tried assinging separate channels to every staff (i.e. to V-I, V-II, Volas, Cellos, Basses) but the result was exactly the same. I could make a recording if necessary of only these two violin groups and you will notice that here and there notes are not played in V-II. Please let me know.

Hello Todd!
Our performance interval patches (like legato) are monophonic by design. The Vienna Instruments Pro player offers a Polyphonic legato mode. You can find out more about VI Pro and order a free demo license at the following link:
