Problem: hairpin dynamics are not smooth, but judder.
Solution: My partial solution (seems to work most of the time) is:
1. put a dynamic marking at the beginning and end of the hairpin, so the hairpin 'knows' exactly what dynamic to start at and to end. I do this even if there is already a dynamic in the same measure.
2. put the entire dynamic-hairpin-dynamic marking both above and below the staff; Notion seems to send four channel information to VSL, even if there is only one voice (channel) on the staff.
