  • vib progr in sibelius 7 with dimension strings

hello I can not have a progressive vibrato in sibelius 7 with dimension strings thank you in advance

  • Hello Cahours!

    Please check the following things:
    - Did you load the Vienna Symphonic Library House Style
    - Do you have the "[Dimension Strings]" instruments in your score. The switches will not work correctly when you use the normal strings instruments from Sibelius.
    - Did you load the VI (Pro) presets that come with the sound set?
    - To change to the progressive vibrato articulation, use the Technique Text command "progressive vibrato". If this doesn't work, it might interfere with a previous command. In this case reset the Sound ID with "ord.", "normal" or "natural", before the "progressive vibrato" command.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Thank you Andi but when i write vibrato progresssive on the score, the sound sus no vib is playing . .

  • Looks like the playback dictionary and the VE_Optimizing_Sibelius_Playback_v2.2 documentation differ for this technique.  Using "prog" works as specified in the playback dictionary.

  • Hi Cahours and dbudde!

In theory all words and word combinations starting with "prog" should work. In practice "progressive vib" or "progressive vibrato" don't work. Here are some examples that will send the right switches to change to the progressive vibrato articualtion:
prog; prog v.; progressive; progressive v.; progressive whatever

It's also possible to make two separate commands. One with "progressive" and one with "vib" or "vibrato".

Sorry for the confusion. I will update this information for the next manual version.

    Best regards,
    Andi
