  • VSL & Sibelius 7 Sounds

Hi, I can't seem to playback a score using both VSL and Sibelius 7 Sounds. I can play using VSL alone fine and Sibelius 7 Sounds fine. For instance, I want to use Sibelius 7 Sounds for the Pad 1 instrument but I want to use VSL horn at the same time. Any help? Oh, if it matters, I'm on a Mac. Thanks

  • Hello xallever!

Normally this shouldn't be a problem. Did you check out our sound sets and the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual yet? Both can be downloaded here:
    http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/141/460/576/655.htm

If this doesn't help, please describe in detail what you have tried and what doesn't work for you.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • I tried combining something else, so I loaded something using Kontakt. The mild annoyance is sometimes the channels overlap. I can't seem to manually tell Sibelius to use a particular channel for a particular instrument. Anyway, so it seems to work with Kontakt, however, Sibelius 7 sounds is supposedly integrated with the software so I don't have to load any samples manually, but when I use a Pad 1 instrument, the samples don't load automatically as when I only use Sibelius 7 sounds.

  • Hello xallever!

You can tell Sibelius which channel to use for which instrument on the Manual Sound Sets page. If you have the same instrument on more than one device, you can make according settings on the Preferred Sounds page.

    Best,
    Andi
