The sounds of pedal movement of Bosendorfer
The Bösendorfer manual specifies this:"Naturally, there are separate Patches for the piano’s up and down pedal positions, and some ingeniously devised Matrix settings will allow you to fade from up-pedal into down-pedal sounds while you play. The sounds of pedal movement are already mapped and will be available with our next VI software update."1) Is this included in the current PRO VI?2) The Expression map of VSL SE contain what it takes to run this patch (with a preset) ?cm

Hello cm,
All patches, matrices and presets are described in detail in the Library Manual for the Bösendorfer Imperial.
All features of VI are also available in VI PRO.
Regarding the VSL SE Expression maps, Andreas Olszewski will answer your question.
My question: What doesn´t work as you expect it?
Best,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your attention. First, what is your sentence (quoted above) manual which suggests that something is missing. However, I believe that there are no missing patch. But I'm not sure that all patches are considered in the Expression Map VSL SE. Expect Andreas. One thing certainly: the nuances (mp, mf, etc) of the map, not everything is available (unless I'm mistaken). Otherwise, it is a beautiful piano, especially towards realism.
The Imperial Vienna, meanwhile, is certainly more fantastic, but the price is very high. Too much in my opinion. I understand the investment, but lower prices may be more than sales and thus profitability equivalent or even better. Better penetration into the market, anyway. This is not a judgment on VSL, which on the whole is remarkable, but a crude reasoning.
Best,
cm

Hello Claude Marc!
The Expression Map you are writing about was made for the piano included in the Special Edition. Nevertheless it can also be used for the Boesendorfer Imperial and for the Vienna Imperial to switch between Pedal up and Pedal down. However, you will have to load a VI preset or matrix first. It's not possible to switch betwen matrices with this Expressionmap.
As to the "nuances" you have mentioned, I guess you are talking about the Dynamics lane, right? I personally don't use this lane at all, but rather the velocity lane. With the velocity lane you can work on dynamics more in detail. Values entered in the dynamics lane only alter the velocity of a note by certain percentages.
Best regards,
Andi

Thank you Andi. This is exactly what I did. And it makes sense. So all is well. The reason for my question about the "nuances", is that opening the map, this line appears automatically. I thought it was well programmed. In truth, I am fairly new to Cubase(7). I used Pro Tools (10) so far, but for the Midi (and VSL does for me), Cubase is truly superior (and I know PT!). But that is another discussion. thank you,

Andi,
I forgot : I see, in the expression map, accent, and I hear it. But I also see sforzato (and I know what it is, a sforzato at the piano), and I hear not. Is this an error? Or why have suggested? It is available with pedal or pedal.cm
