Question about special edition strings
-
For the full orchestra strings library, the first column gives the articulations for the standard portion of the library, while the second column gives the articulations that are part of the extended portion of the library.
Having both, the additional articulations of the full library are well worth it, and give much greater flexibility than one finds within the SE libraries. The chromatic samples also are a real help, and the dynamics patches can be of real use as well.
One critical point, the orchestra strings full libraries are organized differently from all the other full strings libraries. For all the other libraries, Strings I includes all regular string sections, while Strings II includes all sections with mutes. For Orchestra Strings, Orchestra Strings I includes all violin and viola section samples, including mutes, while Orchestra Strings II includes all cello and double-bass samples, including mutes.
