  • Notion SLE presets no longer available in VE Pro 5

    Hi,

since reinstalling VE Pro 5 (in an unsuccessful attempt to solve my problem with the 64 bit version) I've noticed that my Notion SLE presets are no longer available for selection. These are still in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\VSL Custom Data folder as before.

I only see the SE VI presets along eith Epic Orchestra and A-Strings

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Duncan

  • Have you run Directory Manager, just to confirm that VI knows where the Custom Data is located?

What problem are you having with the 64bit version?

  • Hi Bill,

Thanks very much for your reply. That was in fact the solution! At least indirectly. When I was installing Dimension Strings I had unwittingly changed the custom folder location so I just needed to change that back to its previous value.

Thanks for asking about the 64-bit problem too. I've already opened a thread on that (VE Pro 64 bit won't start). Martin Saleteg gave me some tips but it seems my only option is to reinstall Windows. I haven't given up hope of finding another solution yet but it's not really an urgent problem just yet.

    Thanks again,

    Duncan

  •  What happens is you load SE directly, without VEP?

  •  Hi Bill,

I just use the 32 bit version of VE Pro at the moment with Notion SLE. The 64 bit version of VI won't start either. If I use Notion 4 (64 bit) I just use the Notion sounds.

  • Hello Duncan!

As Notion SLE is a 32-bit software, it can't load 64-bit plugins. Anyway, it should be possible start VE Pro Server 64-bit and then connect the 32-bit plugin loaded in Notion to the 64-bit server.

    Best regards,

    Andi

  •  Hi Andi,

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. The problem, as I've described it in another thread, is that I get an exception when installing or trying to start VE Pro (64 bit). Martin Saleteg has given me some hints on how to resolve the problem but, unfortunately, none of them helped. So I'll probably have to reinstall Windows at some stage (the last option on Martin's list). In the meantime I can continue using Notion SLE with VE Pro 32-bit.

    Best regards,

    Duncan

  • I see. Thanks for clarifying.

    Best,

    Andi
