  • preamp, amps, etc

When using samples do you need to use any amps or preamps on the audio track? I have been bouncing the MIDI to an audio track, applying reverb and then normalizing the audio so that it can be the loudest it can be......is this the right way to go?

    Thanks all!

  • Am I crazy to ask this question? Anybody?

  • It may be that I (and maybe others too) don't get the point ... Do you mean bouncing audio form a virtual sampler to an audio-file? Then the answer is "no", because all data stays in the digital domain. Of course you _can_ route your signal to the analogue world, use some (hopefully hi-end) DI-box or dynamic processor to colour the sound and/or change the volume, but you don't have to do so if the level is just loud enough to not distort the following input.

... was this the proper answer ...? [*-)]

that answers my question...I know it was crazy but I guess I just wanted to throw it out there to try and understand things better. (yesterday I noticed Halion has a amp for all the loaded samples so I guess I can mess with that)
