Oboe ensemble: 2 oboes + english horn?

Out of curiosity: is the sampled oboe ensemble performed by 3 oboes or 2 oboes and 1 english horn?

AFAIK it is 3 Viennese oboes.

I really like the woodwind samples in VSL. I already had what I thought were exceptionally good woodwinds in some sample playback keyboards/sound modules, but I never use them anymore because VSL is so pristine.

Same here! In the ol' days I used Garritan Orchestral Strings + Woodwinds on a Korg Triton. Imagine how my mind was blown when I played for the first time with the woodwinds in SE.
