  • Version numbers of master and slave do not match

Hi guys, i have upgraded vienna ensemble 5 pro into newest version. When i start a score in sibelius 7.1.3 and click in a mixer on V.Ens button to open server interface and select 64 bit version and push connect button then i get following error message: "Could not connect to "127.0.0.1 localhost [64]" because the version numbers of mater and slave do not match. Make sure that the version of Vienna Ensemble Pro is installed on both master and slave systems" Does anyone has a clue what to do ? I have sibelius and vienna ensemble 5 pro on same machine and it worked very well with previous ensemble update. Thanks, Martin Ivan

  • Hi Martin,

It could well be that you still have the Vienna Ensemble SERVICE running in the background.

You cn either quit this application or simply restart, then start the Vienna Ensemble PRO SERVER.

  • Hi Paul, no, Vienna Ensemble service is not running at time i start Vienna Ensemble Pro server. I have uninstalled Vienna ensemble 5 Pro, MIR and installed it back and so i uninstalled Sibelius and installed full version back. But it did not help. And i have this issue since i installed newest Ensemble Pro version. Previous version i had worked perfectly with sibelius but this one sucks. Does anyone else has same trouble to interconnect Sibelius 7.1.3 and Vienna Ensemble Pro 64bit server ? Martin

  • Hello Martin!

  • Hello Andi, i think i had copied files you mentioned in my previous Vienna Ensemble version somewhere into folder. So i will do exactly what you propose. I also thought i had some other Vienna Ensemble version on my computer but forgot about these files. Can't wait to check it. I will update this post with the result. If this is the case, and it could be because it has logic, then i take back my words This Vienna Ensemble version sucks :-). Thank you for your answer, Martin

  • Thank you Andi, you were right. I had old Enseble files in folder c:\program files\avid\vstplugins . After i uninstalled and Vienna Enseble, deleted files and set correct path in sibelius play/setup/audio engine options all was working again great. So yes i admit your Vienna Ensemble is alright, the problem was in two Vienna Ensemble version. Thank you again for your accurate help! Martin
