Hello, I have been using Soundsets and VSL for over three years now. I've recently been having issues with these new Soundset updates (also has happened in the past) Beginning from the beginning of a score the strings immediately switch to a snap pizz. All of them. I'm using Chamber Strings for Vln, Vln 2 , Vla, Vc, and DB alongside a variety of other instruments. Of course I have the VSL House Style imported and it is a Playback Configuration I use often. There is no data visible at the top of the score... except ~C7 data, (this happens even if I erase that). If I write nat., ord. arco, it does not matter, the VE Pro instance for the chamber strings always switches to a pizz. A similar situation happens with it always switching to a Harmonic Mute sample at the beginning of a NEW score. I believe there are some bugs somewhere. Do you have any suggestions.? Thanks for your mail.
It can have different reasons when articulations do not change as supposed. Please check the following things:
- The sound sets only work correctly, when you load the VI presets that come with them. Maybe you have a mismatch there. If you are in doubt about that, I recommend removing your old sound sets and VI presets for Sibelius. Then download the latest versions of the sound sets and move the VI presets to your VSL Custom Data folder.
- The "Chamber", "Orchestral", "Appassionata" and "Dimension" programs only work correctly, when the corresponding instruments, that are included with the "Vienna Symphonic Library" House Style (v.1.6 or higher), are used in Sibelius. If you use the normal Sibelius instruments for string ensembles (Violin 1, Violin 2, Violin I, Violin II, Viola, Violoncello, Contrabass, Double Bass), please use the "Ensemble" programs on the Manual Sound Sets page.
- Please also notice that playing around in the Sibelius mixer with the output, channel and Sound ID settings can mess up your playback. If you have tried to make settings there, please reset all outputs to (Auto).
