    I'm interested in purchasing MIR Pro, but it looks like I might have to rework my template to accomodate it.  I am currently running a separate VE Pro instance for each section -- one for strings, one for brass, etc.

    Let's say I continue this setup, so I'll have several VE Pro instances, each with its own MIR:

    - Will the overall sound be the same?  (compared to having all instruments on a single instance?)

    - Will the CPU usage be about the same?

    - Is the 24-instrument limit on MIR Pro 24 counted per instance, or in total?  (Suppose I have 50 instruments total but only 10 per instance, which version do I need?)

    - Any other pros/cons to this type of setup?

    A: Yes.

    Q: Will the CPU usage be about the same?

    A: Using more instances, there will be a little bit higher overload, mostly for the GUI. The difference should be negligible however.

    A: In total. For 5x10 instruments you would thus need the MIR Pro full version.

    I am running 4 computers, one for the daw and 3 vep slaves. I've held off buying mir for two reasons 1. Id need 3 separate licenses of mir (either mir or mir24) 2. I can't place and see all instruments on the same stage. Please consider providing a package of mir that includes 3 licenses (like you already do with vep). And if possible please allow multiple instances of mir to talk to each other across the network so that I can see and edit all instruments on a single stage. hoping to buy very soon but the above would seal the deal for sure.     So there is no phasing issues to be concerned with having say 3-4 Teldex sessions running at the same time?

    You already have what you need (I think).  You have VE PRO 5.  Just buy MIR PRO, and then route the audio from all your slaves to inputs into MIR PRO and place all of them on one stage.  You can either put MIR PRO on your main machine and route all 3 slaves to it, or run MIR PRO as it's own slave machine and have all the VE PRO instances send audio routes to MIR PRO on one stage.  I know Dietz could probably tell you have to better do this but I am certain you could do this.  You probably would have to send all VE PRO instances to the DAW, then route from the DAW to MIR PRO using MIR PRO's "Audio Input Channels".

    No, there are no phasing issues, unless you put the same source through different stage positions.

    Stuart,

    One option for you, could be to run the universal MIR Pro plugin in your DAW. This would allow MIR Pro to run a single stage on your main machine.

    Thanks for the advice. I agree that is possible but the master daw machine would need to be a powerful brute. It would just be really nice to load balance mir across 3 slaves and still see all instruments on the one stage. I imagine this would be a fair amount of development work though. Just a suggestion.
