  • Vienna Imperial and Bricasti M7 double/triple note issue

    Hi all,

I have had an issue now for quite some time that I haven't ever spent the time to address and would love to resolve now.  Using Cubase 6.5, Bricati M7 and Vienna Imperial I get a strange result.  I get double and triple notes when playing Vienna Imperial through the Bricasti.  I can use all the thousands of other instruments I own and not one other does it.  I have turned off reverb in Vienna Imperial entirely, but it still comes.

I have a simple setup I think and again, absolutely every other instrument in the world that I own goes through my Bricasti channel and does not do this.

    1.  Create blank song/project.

    2.  Create Instrument Track with Vienna Imperial

    3.  Load Player Position.  Play notes, Vienna Imperial Plays fine.

    4.  Turn down reverb in Vienna Imperial to 0.

    5.  Instert Send on Instrument Channel and send to Bricasti.  Turn up to about 60%

    6.  Play notes, double notes.

    7.  Turn off Send, no double notes.

    8.  Change Bricasti Venue to any other preset, turn send back on.

    9.  Double/triple notes even in a .8 second reverb room setting.

Any ideas what can be causing this to happen only to Vienna Imperial?

    Thanks!

  • As always, I managed to usually discuss myself through these issues :P.  I am nowhere finished but it seems to be something with routing in my RME Hammerfall card.  I have my instruments etc all routing channels 1+2.  I have my Bricasti on 3+4.  I think the delay is the difference in sound between what channels 1+2 have and 3+4 (because the Bricasti adds a delay to those channels).

When I turn down my Vienna Imperial instrument tracks a bit, and then also turn down the Master output 1+2, it begins to even out.  I don't quite understand it yet, but my master output 1+2 almost acts like a pre-fader volume for the Bricasti.  The most I turn it up, the most reverb it adds to the sound and brings back that double note.  The bricasti group channel is setup to output its final output to channels 1+2 so I am pretty sure this has something to do with it.

Maybe this has always been an issue with all instruments but piano is so sudden of an attack and so fast of an instrument that it only stands out with this instrument.

More to research, if you have any ideas the best setup of this please advise :).
