  • VE PRO 5.1.11548 Channel Set problem

    Hi VSL Team,

I have created a massive library of channel sets to save myself time that took many weeks to completely design.  I went through the pain of setting up each icon on MIR Stage, setting up all necessary patches etc and then saved thousands of channel sets to recall at will to speed up my workflow.

So now trying to use them I get a very nagging issue where if say I recall a single Kontakt instance or G-Player, or Symphobia etc, it will load the channel strip, the MIR Icon but absolutely no Kontakt Instance and no instruments.  So when I click the channel strip it doesn't take me to any instrument screen because there isn't any.  This is happening to absolutely every VST I own except VI PRO instances.

Waht can possibly be causing this?  I sure would hate to lose almost one months time on this.  I tested this with Kontakt 4 instances, Kontakt 5 Instances, Omnisphere and G-Player and they all come back "blank".  I understand the output portion of the channel set has to be entered each time, but is this normal behavior of this feature?  I know they were working because I tested many of them as I went along creating the channel sets.  Suddenly, none of them load except VSL products.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks,

    Maestro2be

  • Wow I suddenly stumbled on the issue.  I haven't fixed it yet but I am right now.  I just realized after updating my VE PRO 5, it totally deleted all of my VST Settings (which had all my mappings to my plug-ins).  I have a feeling it's going to work again after I add all the folders and scan but I hope I can remember all those folders haha :).

  • That ended up being the fix.  Easy fix, just not sure why it totally reset all my settings.  It went to factory defaults, including resetting my midi channel numbers etc.

At any rate, all fixed now :).

  • Is it possible that you updated VE Pro from a rather old version (5.0.10068 or older)? This losing of the VST folder could happen because the VST folder preferences for 32-bit and 64-bit were separated from version 5.0.10309 onwards.

  • Thanks Karel,

I can now see what exactly you were talking about.  I now see two folders "channel sets" and "channelsets".  I noticed all of mine were in the "old" one.  I moved them all to the new folder.  Everything is working great now.

    Thanks,

  • The ones in the old folders (ChannelSets and Channels) should appear in the Add/Insert Channel Set menus without need for browsing.

  • Yup they sure do.  I have one named Channels (space) Sets, those didn't.  When I moved them into the one that was newly created called Channelsets with no spaces, they all appeared instantly without any browsing.

  • That's strange. I'll have a look.

  • Works perfectly in the current release candidate build. So whatever it was, it's fixed for the next update ;)
