  • VEP 5 updated but now can't see any AU plugins?

    HI,

I just updated my VEP 5 to the latest version but now VEP 5 can't see any of the AU plugins in the 'Components' folder. In preferences it shows a few Apple Effects and in Intstruments, the garage band component DLSMusicDevice. I've tried rescanning etc but no change. Any suggestions please?

    Thanks,

    MD

  • Hi,

Did you check that you are using the right architecture (32/64 bit) of the VE PRO Server?

  • Hi Paul,

Yes i'm running VEP 5 in 64bit server mode so i can utilise my mac's RAM but nothing shows up. I'm right in assuming the plugin folder VEP 5 scans is :

    user/library/audio/plugins/Components

It's really strange as prior to this update everything worked fine.

    Thanks

    MD

  • are you certain that when it worked fine you weren't using the 32-bit mode? 32-bit plugs do not show in the 64-bit server preferences or instrument/FX list, they are impossible for 64-bit.

  • Hi,

Yep am certain they are/were 64bit as i only run VEP 64bit server so Kontakt is not restricted by Cubase's RAM 4gb limit. It's really strange, i take it with the recent VEP update, it still scans the plugins/components folder and no where else?

    Thanks,

    MD

  • Success! good ol' dump permissions, reboot, walk around the studio chair anti-clockwise and tah dah!!!! VEP 5 see's the Kontakt first time [:)]

Now if i can only work out why the multiple outputs in kontakt aren't showing up.....
