Adding multpile channels in MIR PRO / vst

Using MIR PRO as a vst ( non VE )
How do I or is it possible to add more than one or all instruments (.mirchan) onto a sounsdtage at once?
When I switch to a different venue with a different sized stage setup I  have to load the instruments to the correct location one by one (or move the current ones one by one.)
Saving the .mirep only includes room+verb+mic paramters & settings. It would be handy to include the instrumtent .mirep seating & settings as well in one file.
If not maybe a 'ctrl+alt/ select add instrumtents to stage' or similar shortcut could be added as a future update for the .mirchan?

MIR Pro Plug-In has to rely on the possibilities of your host (just like it does in VE Pro). Most DAWs offer the possibility to save whole sets of channels with all settings, which would include the individual settings of each MIR Pro Plug-In, of course.

I can save channel, track or project templates but to change to a different venue size within the same project means I'd have to import whichever one & route all the instruments over again.
For the non- VE / vst version a simpler A/B is what I had in mind without all the re-routing. I.E. opening a preset would place all the saved instruments onto the stage at once, then select the desired venue &  wait until MIR re-configures for the venue change & instrument placement changes.
Not ever possible?

Or,

Is it something you wished you could do ?

Why not build a template for each venue that you'll use ?

Carl, I'm mot sure if I understand you properly. You say you have to re-route _everything_ as soon as you change the Venue within MIR Pro? This should work without any problems. The only thing you would have to do is re-position all Icons according to the different stage layout. Keep in mind that you can move all selected Icons at once, BTW.

Again, I don't use VEP.

I do use templates but don't want to load or import them just to A/B another venue.

I only mention re-routing as a means to keep exact instrument placemnts of saved instruments.

When I select another venue I have to move them all around to fit the stage. if  I want to A/B venues with different stage sizes & instrument locations then I have to move them all over again.

How do I keep the same instrument placements when choosing different venues or do I always have to move them to fit & placed on the desired stage?

BTW how do you move them all at one?

 To move all instruments as a group, hold SHIFT and lasso all your instruments, then hold ALT and drag them to the new position.

It is inevitable that selecting a new location will involve having to move instruments, as the size and shape of the stages are different, but being able to drag them all, is a considerable time saver.

Again, I don't use VEP.

I do use templates but don't want to load or import them just to A/B another venue.

It's clear that you are not using the VEP version now.

But your disappointment in the inability to do this in the MIR Plugin,

led me to believe you were once able to do it when VEP and MIR were a team.

Hi Carl,

Thanks for the friendly words! 😊 I think I understand now what you're aiming for.

Please keep in mind that MIR Venues are based entirely on real stages in real halls, with different sizes, shapes and acoustics. You could compare this to multi-samples from different instruments: Of course you are able to use the MIDI-data you used to control a Piccolo Trumpet to drive a Bass Flute, for example - but you will have to do some adjustments to make it work.

The same is true for MIR's Venues. There's no straight-forward and stringent way for MIR to know how to change the positions of an orchestra in - say - Teldex Studio to the very different conditions in the Konzerthaus' Mozartsaal, to make those two setups "comparable". Some manual adjustments will be necessary.

Using MIR Pro is not like adding some algorithmic reverb to an existing mix - it _is_ the mix, including many decisive parameters whose actual values are not based on purely technical, but also artistic-aesthetical decisions. 😊
