    Hi!

    I have a couple of questions regarding the new MIR Pro VST.

    1. What does the latency equate to when using MIR as a VST inside Cubase, when the instrument you are playing is hosted within VE Pro? Cubase buffer is set to 512. VE Pro plug in is set to x 1 buffer. Mir Pro is set to 1024 (as adviced. But what if it is set to 512?)

    2. How does this then compare to using the integratet VEP5 version of MIR in terms of latency? Cubase buffer  is set to 512. VE Pro plug in is set to x 1 buffer.

    3. When using MIR Pro as a VST plugin inside Cubase, is it possible to have the same signal flow as when you use VEP5's integreted MIR? When using the integrated version it is possible to separate the dry and wet signal of MIR, so you get both a dry but positioned signal from MIR, and the wet signal going for example to a separate buss for additional reverb treatment.

    Am I right to assume that

    1) With the MIR vst plugin buffer set to 1024 - would result in a total buffer size of 1536 samples? 512+512+512? 
    With the MIR vst plugin buffer set to 512 - would result in a total buffer size of 1024 samples? 

    2) This scenario would result in a buffer size of 1024 right? So the same as MIR vst buffer set to 512?

    I'm not sure if you're using the plugin yet because you haven't said.

    One thing I don't like is no longer having information displayed in the bottom right corner of MIR.

    With VEP/MIR we had:     Mode (mono or stereo) Tempo, Latency, and CPU usage %.

    This is no longer visible in the MIR plugin.

    In VEP/MIR, have you tried setting MIR to 0 latency ???

    I haven't had the time to properly use it yet, but I have tested it. I just want to know how all the different buffer settings will work in the above scenarios, and wheter or not it is possible to have the same routing setup as within VE Pro...I suspect it won't be possible though.

    The thing is, VEP 5 is fantastic in the way of hosting alot of samples and instruments and doing so at low system cost. And from what I saw from my short test with MIR as VST inside Cubase, I won't be be getting anywhere close the performance from Cubase (with a buffer of 512), as when using MIR within VEP5. Atleast not with a sensible buffer setting, as I need to keep all instruments loaded in VEP5. And I can live with some latency, but preferably not more than a buffer setting of 1024 (the total of VEP5 + Cubase, which already is pushing it in some situations).

    Although it might still be worth using MIR as a VST plug until VEP5 gets a better way of saving and recalling channel settings without having to reload all the samples.
