  • kontakt 5 not showing up in VEP 64

For some reason, the only non-vienna instrument options I have in VEP server 64 are VSTs.  Only G-Player shows up but Play & Kontakt 5 don't.  Any ideas?  Also, where are the VST plug-ins kept that VEP accesses?  I'm thinking perhaps my Kontakt 5 install didn't put its plug-in in the right folder.

    Thanks, guys.

  • Are you talking about Windows or OSX?

  • Sorry.  Windows Vista 64.

  • OK, Kontakt will be wherever you installed it. if you can't remember, search for the Kontakt .dll and then make sure to set the correct Path in the VEP Preferences.

  • Also remember that NI has yet to see fit to name the x64 and the x86 dll differently.  Both versions are named Kontakt5.dll.

  • Kontakt works!  Thanks for the info.  But East West's PLAY is still not seen.  I went into VEP prefs and selected both the C:\East West\ and

C:\Program Files\East West\ folders.  They show up in the VST prefs folder.  But no luck.  BTW, it's there in the VEP 32 version.  Any thoughts?

  • When you install VEP, Play and Kontakt, you are propeted for the folder to install both x86 and x64 versions.  You need to pay attention to where there went.

By default, everything will wants to install in it's own place.  I recomend creating two VST folders: VST_32 under the Progran Files (x86), and VST_64 under the Progran Files.  Install or move everything to those two, and you'll never wonder where things are.

    Play is play_VST_x64.dll and play_VST_x86.dll
