  • Can’t figure out how to route audio from DP 8 into Vienna and back again.

Being that VE Pro is so much more efficient than DP8, (thank you), I want to route my guitars into VE pro and run my virtual amps out of VE Pro. It is my understanding VE now allows for audio to be routed into it but for the life of me I cannot figure out how. I set up the audio inut plug in in VE Pro 5 but I can;t see any sign of it in DP. to route to it.

  • You need to use the VE Pro Audio Input plugin, which is included with VE Pro 5 (not 4). In DP it appears as a normal stereo to stereo effect plugin. See the manual for further info.

  • OK, I figured it out, thanks. So, If I run from a mono track in DP, the plug in automatically turns it stereo. In VE Pro 5, should I run stereo to stereo plugs or mono to stereo? I usually run mono to stereo in DP but since it gets convert to stereo by the plug, it is a bit confusing. Also, could you explain a bit about the latency of VE Pro? It seems to me that it is more efficient at latency through put such that when I set the buffers to 4 x and DP IS at 128, even though the plug mayplay back at 4x buffers, it keeps the through put at 128 or even a bit better? I am wondering if it would be more efficient to take my elec gtr plugs out of DP and out them into Vienna?

  • The conversion to stereo is a simple copy of the channels, so you can just use mono plugins if you so desire. The latency imposed by the VE Pro plugin(s) affects your whole DP project due to latency compensation, so I'd advise you to just try it out and see whether the workflow matches your requirements.
