    Recently  I invested in an OWC SSD and transferred my VSL to that. Load times are still slow (10Mb a second) until I reach about 50% of load, which at present is about 3000Mb and then it rockets. Can anyone tell me why?

    Activity monitor shows only a few blocks green on each core.

    It sounds like you still have the library accessed from a regular harddrive. Make sure that the Directory manager only points to the contents on new SSD drive, not both!
