    My UAD card has a bunch of unregistered demo plug ins. I would like to hide these from VEP - is this possible? For instance in Sonar I just choose which ones to exclude.

    It's possible only by removing them from the VST folder. This should only bother when rescanning these plugins though, which should be a rare occurence.
