  • Revised: New system drive, need to hook up Epic Orchestra samples

I recently replaced my dead system drive with an SSD.  I reinstalled VEP5, and it works fine.  The Epic Orchestra samples have always lived on a separate drive.  I don't need to reinstall the samples to storage, just hook up VEP to the samples from before.  The licence for those is intact on the eLicenser key as well.  I don't see any install entry point to get EO setup, short of kicking off the lenghty download process from the web again.  How can I get these samples hooked up again.

Unrealated: What happened to the body of my original post? None of my paragraph-long description got posted.  Seems like a bug in the message board software.

  •  What do you mean by "hooked up"? If you are saying that you already have the samples on your new drive, then just run Directory Manager, so that your VSL software knows where they are stored. If it is something else, then please explain further.

  • Yes, this is pretty close to what I mean by "hooked up".  My EO samples still exist on my samples drive like they did before swapping out a new system drive.  I need to tell VEP where the samples live.  What is Directory Manager?  I don't see an entry point for that in any of the Vienna software.  The only Vienna software/samples I have are those downloaded along with VEP5.

    Thanks!

  • Read the Vienna Instruments manual. From memory it's round about page 6 or 7.

  • Apparently the Directory Manager does not download as part of VEP, nor is it mentioned in the VEP manual.  I had to download the Instrument Manual to see what you were talking about.  I will try downloading "Vienna Instruments Software 5.2 (Windows) build 11242" to see if Directory Manager is part of that.
