  • Audio input strange bug

After connecting a second audio-input for VE instance ASIO (Cubase 6.5) overloaded..

  • Not necessarily a bug. You need to give lots more information, because all we know at the moment is that you have an overload. There are so many possible causes that I wouldn't know where to start. So, just for starters...

    1. OS
    2. Sequencer version
    3. Computer specs
    4. Soundcard buffer
    5. MIR Pro buffer
    6. Threads per instance
    7. What is loaded into each instance

  • Thank you, DG! I I was waiting for your attention.. :)

    1. OS

    Windows 7 x64 (SP1). Clean Installation.

      a) Local users: vosk (me (administrator) and guest (disabled))

      b) Windows firewall - off

      c) UAC control - off

      d) Power options - all economy off

    2. Sequencer version

    Cubase 6.5.3 x64. Empty project.

    3. Computer specs

    ASUS Rampage III Extreme

Intel i7-990X (in BIOS: HT -off; C1E -off; SpeedStep -off)

    12 gb Corsair 1600

    NVidia 590 + AMD HD 5670 (for 4 monitors)

    Not overclocking!

LAN Intel PCI-E (2 unit - for direct connect with two slave computers)

    M-Audio 2496 (for windows sound)

    RME AIO (exclusively for Cubase)

    (Midi - Novation 25SL Mk II + Casio CDP-100)

    4. Soundcard buffer

    256 (6 ms)

In Vienna set default buffer = 2

    5. MIR Pro buffer

    Not use MIR

    6. Threads per instance

All Threads per instance (6 on master computer (without HT) and 8 on 2 and 3 computers (i7-950 here))

    7. What is loaded into each instance

Nothing. Only two empty input channel.

    =======

    Instance open on slave computer.

If insert audio input plug-in (vst 3) in insert first audio-track and connect it with instance first input - ASIO all ok!

If insert audio input plug-in (vst 3) in insert second audio-track and connect it with instance second input - ASIO overload..

Just tested 3 last version of VE PRO 5

    a)build 11262 (2012-08-04)

    b)build 10988 (2012-07-10)

    c)build 10738  (2012-05-15)

build 11262 and build 10988 have this bug

    build 10738 - all ok!

  • You seem to be doing everything right. Hopefully support can help you with this. I'm using a different version, so I can't make it happen on my rig. Sorry.
