VEP5 and ProTools 8 HD setup
My name is Beau Shiminsky and I am trying out VEP5 to work with my ProTools setup (Protools HD 8).. I have downloaded a trial version and have authorized to my e-licenser. The software shows up fine and I am able to get 1 channel working with protools. When I try and add another channel within VEP5 and access this channel via protools, i hear nothing. I believe I have everything routed fine through protools to VEP5. I know this is vague but I have yet to find a tutorial that explains how to setup VEP5 with Protools so you can use mutliple channels via VEP5 with different instruments. It is my understanding that this should work fine. Is it because I am using a trial version? I would like to know that this could work as I am starting a film project that will require this ability. Look forward to any information Beau

Hi Beau,
Did you check the settings of the MIDI Ports and MIDI Channels for each channel?
This is described on page 45 (chapter "Channel Overview") in the VE PRO 5 manual.
Probably also interesting for you in this regard is page 49 ("Multi-timbral plug-ins in VE PRO") and of course the "Routing in Pro Tools" chapter on page 62.
If you follow the information in there and it still doesn´t work, please send a mail with a few screenshots to
Best,
Paul

Greetings!
As suggested by Paul, I am posting my query in this thread:
I have an issue that has me quite vexed.
The situation: A well spec'd 64bit win7 pc with both Protools 10.2 and VEPro 4.1 cohabitating. I can successfully connect midi via either an instrument or midi track, from protools to the VEPro server, but to date have been unable to return audio from VEPro to Protools. (Either an instrument track or aux). The track input menu does contain an entry for VEPro, under "plugins", but it is greyed out.
It is interesting to note that VEPro is working flawlessly with cubase.
I can only assume that I have overlooked something rather silly, however, to date no amount of troubleshooting or internet searches has ferreted out the solution.
I would be most grateful to anyone who can alleviate my distress.
Thanks and goodwill!
