  • Boot problems with MacPro

    Hi,

A bit offtopic but I've weird boot problems and i know there are people here with knowledge.

My MacPro most of the time doesn't find my boot drive (Macintosh HD) but once every 20 power off/power on attempts it suddenly sees the disk (I keep option pressed while booting)

And then it works fine. Is this a sign of a failing bootdisk, or is this the controller?

Do I need to replace the C: drive or is it the motherboard?

tnx in advance for any help

  • did you repair permission and repare  disk ?

    Did you reset PRAM ?

  • I didn't know Macs had a C drive !?

You didn't mention which MacPro you have, but if your boot drive we're failing your Mac should notify you.

  • yes I did, but it won't repair everythig. Some files are in use it says

  • Boot on the DVD and go in disk utility to repair your disk and repair permissions
