  • Insignificant but annoying issue with Woodblocks

Probably not something you use everyday, but there seems to be a problem with the lowest note (C2) on the woodblock

Percussion Patches : Mallets : Woodblocks (all articulations)

It seems the release sample is playing the note below, as it strikes a different note on release. Not the end of the world, as you can play D instead,  but perhaps could go on the things to do list.....

    Hello andyjh,

Did you check that you´re using the latest VSL software and the latest Library Updates for DVD or DOWNLOAD products?

There were issues at some point, should definitely be fixed by now.

If not (and after you have tested the latest updates), please tell us which product you are referring to.

    Best,

    Paul

  •  Related to this is a strange thing with the 8-velocity Percussion set from Symphonic Cube.  If you have release samples on, the snare drum plays an extra note on the note-off!   Totally screws up the line.  So I switched release samples off and it is fine.  That may be a bug also and seems similar to the woodblock problem.

  •  I thought I had everything up to date, so I downloaded all the updates again to be sure, and the problem still exists.

It is the Percussion DVD library

PATCH - PERCUSSION PATCHES - WOODBLOCKS - 01 WBL_Wood  (although it applies to any of the 4 woodblock patches)

Playing the lowest note (C2), has the wrong release sample on, as it plays a lower pitch on release.

Whilst in the area of percussion,  the TEMPLEBLOCKS - Wood Mallet - 01 TBL-Wood_Single-Hits    has the text description inverted on the description of A/B (A is both hands and B is L/R - but is shows the opposite),

though I guess it would need to be a really dull moment, to feel the need to update this.
