  • DOWNLOADS VS CUBE

    Hi,

I'm working on a project with a friend. He runs vienna instruments using download instruments samples. I have the cube plus extended library, which I thought contains pretty much everything orchestral on offer. Now, when I try to open his sessions, the instrument shows up blank: Sounds don't load automatically. My question: Shouldn't this be possible? there a difference in architecture and/or naming of the samples–or are the libraries even different? Or is there indeed a way that I can automatically replicate his assignments? Doing it manually would be kind of a pain, and worse, he would have to do it when I send stuff back which is not cool. Anything you have on this topic would be great.

    Thanks!!

  • Hi dgarfinkle,

The Symphonic Cube contains the first 10 Instruments Collections we ever released. Many more followed.

Which Download Instruments is your friend using?

You can also send an arrangement to  (in a zip file), so that i can take a look.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Thanks so much Paul,

I'm sending over a file right now. My friend is using special edition [100], which is such a small collection that I hoped I would have all of his sounds available (I have the cube standard and extended).

    Thanks again and talk soon

  • Ah, Special Edition is different. You can't just swap projects with that.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the additional info, I also just replied to your mail to our support team.

The Special Edition indeed contains a few articulations that had to be named differently, to avoid confusion. E.g, if there were multiple portato variations available (short, long, with/without vibrato), ONE was picked and labled portato, to avoid confusion.

If you try to load a Special Edition song with the Symphonic Cube or Super Package, the best idea is to reload these articulations manually (from the Super Package content).

    Best,

    Paul
