  • J.N.HUMMEL Septet N°1 Op.74 - last mouvement

Hi everybody, i just achieved the mix of the last mouvement of HUMMEL's septet N°1. I really like this composer ... Enjoy ! Philippe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPDplU8mbTo&feature=plcp

  • Hat's off to Mr Hummel! (and to Mr Baylac!!),

Philippe, what an amazing piece of piano playing. Terrific. I can tell you really enjoy this composer and I think you have produced another fine piece of work here. I'm not sure if my system is biased too much on bass but I did notice that the mix seemed to be a little heavy towards the lower frequency range but I would wait to hear if this was the impression of others also. An excellent rendition nonetheless and did not disturb my enjoyment too much as I was transfixed by the composition and playing. I have to also admit that everything else except piano disappeared for me which I didn't mind however I'd be curious to hear other opinions as it may just be where I am with my current mindset and listeneing disposition.

    Regards,

         Tom

  •  I love it!  I'd never heard much of Hummel and it is great to hear it in this venue.  He had to be a big influence upon the early Beethoven.  Great job on this!  I'd like the have the whole thing on CD actually.

  • Thanks Tom and William. I'm happy you like it. The next one will be probably a piece of C.P.E BACH,which is one of my favorite composer of this period. He was not musically appreciated by his father Johann Sebastian, but Beethoven said that he was a genius ... To be continued ;-) Regards, Philippe
