    Hi All, 

    After many years working in a stereo format, I would like to modify my system to accomodate 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound. I am running Vienna ensemble pro 5 and vienna instruments pro on a dedicated PC with a Hammerfall HDSP 96/52 Audio interface. The output optical or spdif is routed to a Mac PC via a Presonus Firepod. Are all the surround channels encoded on a single spdif or optical out? What type of interface is needed to decode the channels to a wirless speaker system? Surround sound headphones are sold for gaming would these work for a 5.1 or 7.1 system? Any guidance from experienced users would be appreciate.
