  • TRying out Vienna Ensemble Pro with Logic - plenty of stuck notes

    Hi -

I am currently evaluating this software.. whenever I try to use more than one VSL VI - I get stuck notes all overthe place..

    Any idea's?

  • Are you opening VI in Logic or Ensemble Pro?

  • Hi thanks for replying.. Ensemble Pro.

  • Hi padams,

I guess you´ll get more replies if you told us a bit more about your system....

    Best,

  • Hi - yes certainly.

Thankyou all for taking a look at my post.

I have two Mac mini's networked with Ethernet. Running 10.6.8. I have Logic 9.17 running in 64 bit mode on one system.

I am trying to run Vienna special edition in VEP5 on the second machine with a couple of FX plugins. I appear to get alot of stuck notes and am not entirely sure why.

While I am at it - I am a little confused about the saving routine. I simply want to save setups with a project name so i can load them up later when mixing. Should saving the Metaframe be enough?

    Thanks..

  • Okay, how much RAM do you have?

How many instruments are you running?

How many SE libraries are installed, on how many drives?

What are your latency / buffer settings?

    Hi,

Adjusting the buffer sizes will most probably get rid of your troubles.

Check out the manual, pages 21 and 22, where all the names are explained.

*.viframe = 1 instance of VE PRO

*.mframe (metaframe) = all instances opened in 1 VE PRO SERVER.
