  • VE Pro 5 sample slave routing audio to external audio interface

    Hi!

I know that VE Pro is configured to send midi over ethernet from the host computer to a slave computer and audio back to the host computer.
Now, can you make VEPro on a slave machine to NOT send audio back via ethernet to the host BUT INSTEAD send it out to a dedicated soundcard/audio interface which is connected to the slave machine?
if yes, how would the latency compensation work, since the audio has not to travel back to the host via ethernet but instead has to deal with the buffer size of the slave audio card/interface.
The reason I'm asking is because I would like to do all summing & stems in protools running on a dedicated machine.
so in theory a basic, minimal setup would consist of 3 computers:
1 computer for the host sequencer
    1 computer as sample slave
1 computer with pro tools only
    thanks very much!

  • As you know, VE Pro doesn't work that way. However, there is noting to stop you using it (or any other VST/VSTi host) in standalone mode and using something like MOL.
