Mazeka,
Do you find it a good idea to upgrade your Mac OS as soon as the upgrade becomes available?
why should we not, especially when being concerned about things like Gatekeeper and knowing that developers were able to access the beta for months now.
what to wait for - for OSX 10.9? might just be a couple of months ... so, deverlopers better support stuff right away or they will be versions behind ...
best
Thats great ,
Thank you.
FYI
The temporary workaround
a. Hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and click the installer package. Then, choose "Open".
The permanent workaround (not recommended)
a.Disable Gatekeeper altogether by opening the System Preferences
b.Click on "Security"
c. Choose "Anywhere" from the first tab at the bottom

I'm sorry, did you say "developers better support stuff right away or they will be versions behind ..."
Where exactly would that leave you? If the developer of an essential piece of professional software, (that you use) falls behind,
not only have you upgraded yourself out of a good thing, but your competition who decided to wait, continues working stress free.
How many times have we read posts on this and other sites from users who could not wait?
Users on DEADLINE, in the middle of a paid projects who just had to upgrade their OS....... oooops.
I've been on the Mac since 1985 and refuse to believe Apple ever intended to release products before their time.
Today however, Apple is a victim of its own success. Competition is fierce, so new iPhones, Pods, Pads and yes,
Operating Systems, are turned over far too quickly.
While we find it risky, there's nothing wrong with upgrading your OS right away. There's also nothing wrong with waiting awhile.
Good Luck.
Mazeka,
I didn't think you would rush to upgrade.
Say it ain't so..... MacBook Pro Retina backorderd. How longs the wait?
