  • silent PC Case

I'm going to get rid of my 2008 MAC Pro and going back to Windows only.

    The W7 Pro 64 O.S: will go on a 256Giga SSD Vertex 4

the samples on a SSD OCZ Revodrive 3 PCI-e card

the rest on 2 hard disks

the Processor will be an INTEL I-7 3930K

    any raccomandation for the case?

I need a quiet one as I don't have the possibility to keep it into an insulated piece of furniture, or in another room.

(I will use it in Italy).

You are going to be very short of power with large orchestrations using MIR PRO

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

For smaller projects, e.g., users of the Vienna Special Editions:

    • PC Intel i7-Quad CPU or better, with Windows 7 64-bit
    • Mac Intel i7-Quad CPU or better, OS X 10.6.8 or higher
    • 12 GB RAM

    For larger projects:

    • PC Dual Intel Quad Core XEON 5520 or better, with Windows 7 64-bit
    • Mac Pro 8-Core Xeon 5520 “Gainstown” or better, with OS X 10.6.8 or higher
    • 24 GB RAM
If you want it in 5.1 or in 7.1  a 12 core Xeon is a minimum

  • Thank you Cyril

    luckily I don't use 5.1 or 7.1.

The problem is that my Mac Pro ihas been  killing the  2 gigas 8 banks of RAM,
so I have started with 16 gigas that became 14 (using the 2 who came with the Computer), then 10 and now just 6..

When I had the full 16 gigas of RAM, together with the PCI-e SSD card I was happy with the machine.

Now 4 years have passed and the new one will have a faster processor

Ok, is 6 instead of 8 cores but the tecnology is better inside, and it has got the double of RAM (32 instead 16) the double of speed (1600 instead of 800) with the double memory channel (4 instead of 2).

the OS disc will be on SSD instead of a mechanical hard disk

in my opinion it will not be a worse machine of my MAC Pro

and I don't want to invest in iold technology to replace the RAM of the MAC Pro.
