  • Question about using MIR on small computers

I'm using Vienna Ensemble (the free one) and Cubase on a small XP computer and  I’m able to obtain a mix file without any click/pop by using the Cubase tool  “audio mix down” with the “real-time” option disabled even if when I play the song in real time I have some clicks and pops.

I’m wondering if VE PRO 5 and MIR PRO can take advantage of this Cubase feature? if yes, does it work also in the case of VE PRO and MIR are on a slave computer?

I’m not able to try it by myself because I have not MIR PRO nor VE PRO yet, Now I’m just trying to figure if a mid-range slave computer could be sufficient for my future MIR usage. Typically I don’t have large arrangements but just in case… if I have to use a large setup I can accept some clicks/pops during the normal work but I want to be able to produce a final mix without these issues.

Can somebody tell me if the “no-real-time” mixdown is allowed in VE PRO+MIR PRO?

    Thanks a lot,
    Eduardo

  • This is perfectly allowed and one of the nice features of VE Pro in general.
