  • MOTU 2408 mkI problem

Hi all, sorry this is a little off topic. I've got a MOTU 2408 for my PC, which I had working fine about six months ago when I was running Windows ME on my computer. When I upgraded to XP however, I wasn't able to get it to work.

I seem to have everything installed properly, and I've downloaded the most recent drivers, but when pulling up the PCI Audio Console, there's only a blank in the "Configure Interface" pulldown menu. I also can't select the 2408 in the Sounds and Audio Devices menu, also not in Gigastudio. Any ideas?

It seems to me that I might have had this problem or something like it when I first got it going with ME, but for the life of me I don't remember what I would have done to make it work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Jeff

  • AFAIR there have been problems reported with the latest drivers for XP and using the version before solved the problem

  • Are you using it for Giga (GSIF drivers) or ASIO? I wasn't able to get any of the MOTU hardware to work with Giga, at least not the digital outs.

It's very good hardware for Mac, but I don't know about Windows.

Your best bet is to contact motu tech support. It's a slow ride but they'll respond eventually. They may have a work around.

  • Hey guys, thanks for the replies. There's only the one driver for XP on the MOTU site, so I might be SOL on that. I did have it working fine for about six months with the GSIF drivers, but I think that might have been before I upgraded to a better motherboard, so I know that it does work with Windows. And I have been in contact with MOTU Tech Support, who got back to me very quickly and have been working with me.

Anyone have an idea of where to track down previous versions of the MOTU drivers?

    Thanks.
