  • No worries, thank you for your help.

  • Yes, the zigane legato is in Chamber strings.  They can be layered with Orchestral.  For example, one could layer Orchestral fast legato with Chamber zigane and obtain an extremely rapid legato effect.  Also as I mentioned using some detached articulations with legato is a way of speeding up legato.

  • William its not about fast legato, thats not an issue, its the motes sliding between the notes, think of connecting nots via a pitch bend controler, but with reailistic intervalls

  •  O.K., since you said "violins in fast passages" I thought you wanted fast legato. Never mind.

  • William, I really appreicte you effort to help, and thank you so much for doing so,

I do want fast legato , but with portamento conection between the notes :)

  • Hi mazeka,

did you install the library updates for your Orchestra and Appassionata strings?.

Doing so you'll get access of new "performance-legato_fast_slur" patches. Maybe these patches deliver what you are looking for.

    best

    Herb

  • Perhaps you have already tried this, but if not: If you own VI Pro 2, you can create all kinds of different portamentos with all sorts of different speeds by changing the times of the different portions of each sample (the first VI Pro only allowed you to change the speed of the entire sample).

  • Hi Herb, Thanks for the reply,

Yes I did install the updates and tried the new patches, I think what am  looking might not be possible, its more the playing style :) might try to add some pitch bend controller to portamento patches,

I think what am looking for is kinda potamento between sevral notes, in other words,

VSL Portamento is one shot slide betwenn two notes, a starting note and a destination note,

I think its possible for violins player to start a portamento from a starting note, then the slide another and then another without initiating a new portamento ,

so basically the notes are different during a prtamento

Sorry am trying my best to explain what am looking for,

Herb, can you listen to the Strings mp3 in my personal files?

  • Hello DG, my name is Boris I've been viewing the comments on portamento in Vienna, and I'm trying to find the stretch feature in VI pro 2. Thank you in advance Boris
