  • I am not having any luck with this. I have my certificate and it shows serial numbers for: • SPECIAL EDITION EXTENDED LIBRARY • SPECIAL EDITION PLUS EXTENDED LIBRARY However, at the registration page on the website the choices for entering serial numbers are: • Special Edition Section & Collection • Extended Library. I don't know what goes where and cannot get this to work. A few weeks ago I got an error message from eLicenser. The Sweetwater technician said my eLicenser software was out of date and he updated it. VSL has not worked right since then. May I please have some step-by-step directions what to do to register or re-register the libraries and then do whatever is required with eLicenser? Note that I have the DVDs if there is some information there I need, and, as stated above, I have the serial number registration certificate in pdf form.

  • Tried several times to fix this post so it would hae line breaks, using both IE and Firefox. Sorry. Not sure why it is doing this.

    Hi bhartmann,

Sorry to hear that you're still having problems. But since you now have the certificate with the serial numbers for the former Extended Libraries (now called Volume 2) of the Special Editions, you're only two steps away from accessing the additional instruments again:

    1. Register the two serial numbers of the PDF certificate one by one on this page (login necessary) in the field "Extended Library". In case the serial numbers are not being recognized, kindly note that it's sometimes hard to distinguish the number 0 with the letter O, and the number 1 with the letter I. Same goes for two V's (VV) and W.
    2. You'll receive two activation codes in return (on the website and per email, as a backup), which you have to enter into your eLicenser Control Center which you might want to update beforehand. This will download the permanent license for the former Extended Libraries to your eLicenser USB key and enable you to access the missing instruments again.

There's also a video tutorial available on how to register and install our DVD products.
Again, if any specific problems pop up, it might be better to contact our after sales support at .

    I hope that helps!
    Best,

    Stefan

  • Stephan, Thanks for your kind assistance! These directions seem very clear and I will try them when back at the studio in a few hours.

  • Stephan, Thanks for your continued support. As you know from my separate email, I was able to re-register the products, but the process is failing when I enter activation codes in the eLicenser software. I paste in the codes, but then get a screen asking if I want to upgrade. The upgrade options are grayed out. I sent you a screen image. Your email reminded me that I need an Internet connection, but that is not the problem. I am connected to the Interner which is how I re-registered the products and emailed you. Something is wrong with the eLicenser process and I could really use some guidance there. (I think this is why some people prefer iLok :-)). I hope to hear from you and appreciate all the help. Regards, Konrad (bhartmann)

    Hello Konrad,

    Thanks for your message!
Sorry to hear of the continuing problem. As already replied to you via email, installing the update for eLicenser Control Center which you can get here should do the trick. :-)

    Best,
    Stefan

  • I will try that as soon as I am back at the studio. Thanks again for the excellent response. On another topic, I have a pretty large collection of Virtual Instruments and sample libraries, including EastWest, Vir2, Synthogy, and others. Although they all have their strong points, I always come back to VSL as the most pristine orchestral collection. VSL is also kinder to CPU and memory than some other products.

  • When I try to run the eLicenser set-up, the program chuuns for a while and then says there are other programs running that prevent it from running (as though there is another instance of eLicenser running). This is the same error I get when I try to run Maintenance from the eLicenser control center. There are no other programs running. I even restarted my PC to be sure.

  • Stephan, I found that even after restarting my PC, there was a VSL daemon running that was preventing eLicenser from making updates. Once I stopped this, I was able to update the eLicenser software and activate the products. I now have Chamber and Appassionata restored. We still don't know what went wrong originally with eLicenser, but everything is cool now. Thank you for your patient assistance! Let me take this opportunity to say again the VSL is the undisputed king of orchestral libraries. Going without it for a while was painful! Great support here from the VSL team.
