  • Control surface for VE Pro 5

Need some expert advise here... Which control surface works best with VE Pro 5 connected through Nuendo?

Does it work for volume automation etc?

E.g. Avid Artist Mix, Mackie MCU Pro, something else?

    Cheers

  • This may sound like a stupid question - does any control surface with faders work as both MIDI CC controller (for Plugins) as well as Volume mixer?

  • Anyone?

  • It seems this was a tough question to ansser for the experts here... ;-) Just kidding

Let me put this the other way - has anyone been successul in using Euphonix / Avid Artist series, or a similar controller with VE Pro 5 (maybe through Nuendo)? Are there any problems that are worth being aware of before making an investment?

    Cheers!

  • Do you want motorized faders? There are lots of controllers that do what you want, but not with motorized faders. I have heard about one product that did, but it's discontinued, AFAIK.

  • Hi DG,

Thanks for your response... It may not necessarily have motorised faders but I'd prefer if it has... Can you please suggest couple of good controllers?

  •  I have no experience of what is good or not, but I did get my hands on a Novation Zero MKII recently. I sent it back (because I had been led to believe that it had motorized faders), but other than the slightly plastic feel, I think it could work well. You could also try the Lemur for iPad. I have a proper Lemur, and it does the input side of things well. I just don't like touch screens for controllers.
