  • Question about 2nd instrument in SE ?

I have noticed that there are Bassoon 2, trumpet 2, harp 2, etc. in volume 3 and 4 of special edition. I was wondering what do they differ from the first instruments.

  • Hello ondine,

Well, they are different instruments played by different players.... of course that results in a different sound.

    Best,

  • I am still confused. Harp 1 and Harp 2 are both harp. They are the same instruments. Even if they are played by different performers, the differences are so subtle.

  • I hear big differences between both Harps. I like Harp 2 much more.

Two different harps performed by two different artists offer a complete unique sound for each instrument. There are many orchestral pieces which are written for two harps, and especially for all passages where two harps are playing more or less unisono you'd need two individual sampled instruments for convincing results.
