Appassionata Strings I or II?
Hello all and thanks in advance, the question is very simple, i dont know the main differences between the two. I have LASS, Sym.Orch and CS2 as String Libraries. I am down to HolyWood Strings or Appassionata Strings. I am leaning more towards Appassionata becuse i already have Symphonic Orchestra. LASS is another Story, their Library is a real MESS. I need some help deciding: 1. VSL vs HolyWood? 2. Which Appassionata String, I or II and why? 3. What about the Free Player and Player Pro? Computer Power is of no worries, i have a Monster for that. Thank you ALL! Nedim

Between VSL and Hollywood Strings, it would have to be VSL, not just because of the sound library, but the VSL VI Pro player is leagues ahead of the EW Play engine. The one thing that stops me adding EW Hollywood S/B to my sound library is the Play engine, not necessarily the sounds.
So I guess I have answered your third question as well, get VI Pro - you'll never regret buying that - it's simply the best sample player software out there.

Thanks Guys, most likely i am going with Appasionata 1 and most likely ordering tonight. I understood the differences between I and II...now there is another question, not that i dont know the difference but what i mainly use and need is a lot of Sustains (Leg+Port), some Marc, Stac and sometimes Tremolos. The difference between Standard and Full, as i can see they are both in 24 Bit format and of course Standard has less Samples...now, would i really need the extra stuff in the Full version and considering all i have in my Signature, would the Standard version do justice for me? Thanks

Thanks DG, when i get the Standard i understand it will install as Full with Demo period, after that would i be able to ONLY Upgrade to Full?

All the samples, both Standard and Extended, are automatically installed. If you decide after the demo period that you want to purchase the Extended, you can do that, and you will get a permanent licence. If you decide that you don't, the Extended will just disappear from your sample browser.

Bill, the problem is that Extended is not even for sale, only Full and Standard which is kinda Confusing, Extended lists as inferior to Standard and also there is no list for Full. Thanks

Edit: Bill got there first. [:D]

Thank you very much guys, i am getting closer and closer till tonight, would any of these http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/261/2065/2076/2156/1841.htm Collection make sense instead of full strings? I was looking all day at this bundles today to see if there is actually anything more for the buck. Thanks

Bundles provide major discounts over getting collections individually. Depending on funds, you might want to consider a bundle of AP Strings I and II, assuming you have decided to go with AP Strings.
As for purchasing standard and/or standard and extended, the dynamic articulations in the extended library are particularly valuable in reaching more lifelike emulations.

Thanks Guys, it happened, i got the VSL Special Edition Vol3 and thats just the begining with VSL, i own the whole NI and EWQL line. I am already eyeing on few other Collections too. Now i will be here more often and i hope will get help and help others. As of now i am still downloading, i downloaded the Manuals and Videos, also VSL Ensemble but still no sight of the VSL Instruments Player it self...unless its in the main Download Package. Also upgraded to EWQLSO Platinum. Thanks
