    First, let me just say that I'm truly impressed with the demos produced by this library, and I cannot wait to use it to render some standard classical pieces from Bach, Mozart, Handel, etc. Congratulations to the VSL team of engineers (and the artists too!) that make this possible.

    I have a few simple questions.

    1. The first edition does NOT contain solo violin and solo cello (one has to wait for the pro edition). The 1st edition string package are all ensembles, no solo. Is that correct?

    2. Will you be including Baroque instruments in the future such as oboe d'amore, viola da gamba, harpsichord, and positive organ (in basso continuo setting)?

    3. Let's say you want to render a duet, say an oboe duet. Let's say I'm using the performance tool and the performance set. At some point, both oboes will play the same note together. Will the sound be like one oboe or two oboes? One way to achieve the sound of two oboes I think is to program in another note with slightly different attack parameter / aftertouch, etc. Or does the performance tool have a way of simulating two oboes if it is given one MIDI NOTE-ON message? I'm sorry if this is a silly question, as I'm new to MIDI.

    Hello Paul,

    1st: you're right, in the first edition are no solostrings.
    The Pro Edition will offer soloviolin and solocello (the recordings are nearly finished)
    And we are starting now recordings for soloviola and solo double bass

    2nd: I would really like to discover the world of period instruments. It's one of our future plans.

    3rd: The most effective way to get a different sound out of one instrument, is to work with different EQ settings (IMO). But we also plan to produce alternative soloinstruments.
    The first will be a second flute for the Pro Edition.

    Will the solo viola and double bass be included in the pro edition, or is it planned for the Symphonic Cube?
