  • Latency too high with Event Plug In in Logic

When using the Event Plug in in Logic, as soon as I go into record the latency jumps to 1024 samples.

I know in the manual that the Event Plug in would increase latency, but it is almost un-useable with this amount of latency.

It makes it very difficult to plat with any degree of precision. Even more frustrating is the latency value can change, to a lower value but reverts back to 1024 samples randomly.

The concept is great. Is there any way around the extra latency using the event plug in? Could this be improved in a future update?

Sorry if someone has asked these questions before. The search function could use some improvement as well.

    Thanks

  • Do you have the I/O Helper plugin properly set up in Logic on both the tracks that contain Audio/Event Input AU's and the track that contains the Server Interface AU? It's described in the manual.

  • Yes I do have the I/O hepler in, assigned to an output and bypassed.

What is frustrating is: for a little while I can record with no latency, but it always reverts to an amout that makes it impossible to record midi tracks.

  • Give your configuration, setting, and how is organized your data on disks ?

Do you have a midi instrument connected to the AU that is used to send back audio to from VSL to Logic ?
