    By default, VE PRO 5/MIR Pro always comes up with 8 midi ports.  Is there really any problem with permanently changing that to 32, even on projects that I may only use 1, or 20?

    It shouldn't make any difference. Only the amount of actual MIDI events being sent to VE Pro counts in terms of performance.

    Karel,

    Just one more question please.  I know this might sound counter-productive, but is there any way I can have the instances NOT automatically connect when loading a project or template?  Right now I just simply load the server AFTER I load up my template.  This way I can pick and choose which parts of it to load.

    I basically would love a way to say that these can autoconnect and these cannot.  That way when I do a template load, nothing loads but what I pick.  However after that, when I create a song with that template using the ones I wanted, I can set THOSE ones to autoconnect and not the others.

    There is no way apart from the way you just described, that is by just not starting the VE Pro Server and manually connecting the instances you want.

    Thanks Karel.  I was thinking about this last night and that way works fine for me.  The other thing I could do is simply save all my channel sets and then simply have my templates load no instruments.  Then after the sessions load blank VE PRO instance, I can add what I need from channel sets.  This is just as effective I think for what I need.
