  • Effect of optimization

The process I am experimenting with at the moment, to create a performance of a huge orchestral piece (92 VIs), is to work each instrument group at a time. So starting with the three flute parts I am loading the full presets ensuring the playback is correct then optimizing the samples before moving on to the 3 oboe lines etc.

My question is, when I have optimized the samples used in each instrument, what changes can I still make? Particularly if I change a passage from say p to f will I have to reload all the samples and then optimize again? Or are all the different dynamic levels still available after optimization?

  • Hello David!

If your are using Velocity XFade, all dynamic levels will be kept in your RAM. So it will not be necessary to reload all samples and reoptimize the samples loaded after changing dynamics in your score. If you are not using Velocity XFade this step will be necessary indeed.

    Best regards,
    Andi
