VSL Symphonic Cube Flute Range is C4-C7. Cannot play back notes over E6 from Sibelius 7.1 score. Anyone have an idea why...?

  •  The most common error (done it a number of times myself) when a portion of an instrument range is not sounding is having keyswitches accidently mapped over actual notes.  If a keyswitch is mapped over a sounding note, the keyswitch will keep the note from sounding.

  • Thanks for your reply.Yes I noticed some keyswitches overlapping and change them to A1 B1 (AB keyswitches) but still no flute sound beyond E6,the keyboard in vsl has sounds for each note in the range.

  • Unfortunately, I am not a Sibelius user (long time Finale user), so I can't help you beyond the common error type stuff.

  • Hello Theo!

This is a rather unusual problem. Can you give some more details?
Are you talking about Flute 1 or Flute 2?
Do the notes make sound when you play them on the virtual keyboard of VI Pro?
Do you see incoming MIDI messages when notes above E6 are played? This can be seen by a blinking LED on the very left under the instrument name in VI pro.
Are all articulations affected or only one or a few?

    Best,
    Andi
