I'm still very new to VSL and gradually finding my way around my recent library purchases. My query is how best to get that beautiful buttery round horn sound from these libraries. I have the SE/Plus bundle and Dimension Brass (plus VI Pro 2, Vienna Suite, VE Pro 5 and MIR PRO). By experimenting with velocity cross fade and filter levels I'm getting closer, but wondered if there is any particular approach that is proven to work well by others here. I guess the other question is whether purchase of one or more download libraries would help. My general impression of VSL horns so far is that they sound great but quite "dark" (if that makes any sense) in comparison with some other library demos I've heard.
